Assignment 8: Video & Sound

This week's project was a lot of fun to figure out and create. I used p5 to create a music player where there are three songs to choose from. The user can play or pause each song. I added a video feed as well and a tint over top of the feed to create a sort of ambiance. The colors of the tint on the video change to the beat or amplitude of each song, which creates a pretty cool pulsing effect. I at first wanted to have the colors flash in a bunch or random colors, but then I realized that that wouldn't really fit the vibe that the songs give. I purposefully chose chill and relaxing songs, and so I tried to make the color of my tint match that.

I used a lot of the Dan Shiffman youtube videos to help with this weeks project. If I were to redo this project, I think I would add a little bit more style to it. The buttons are very boring and grey and I would like to design it to be more fun and contribute even more to the ambiance that I am trying to set with the music and colors.

Overall, this project was a lot of fun to make and I really like adding sounds to projects, it adds a whole new dimension of possibilities.
